Ho Ho Ho

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! I hope all of you have a wonderful time with your families creating plenty of great memories.

I am pretty excited for some great meals in the next week or two. I am not sure of everything going on, but I do know I was in charge of making bacalao chowder at mom’s, my brother Andy and his family invited everyone up for homemade ravioli. Wooohooo! (he said they made a couple hundred.), my brother-in-law Gene is making his famous kraut and sausage and mom has some great chicken broth made for wedding soup. Her wedding soup is absolutely the best! I love bacalao! I recommend it 100%. Plan a few days for preparation, because you need to soak it in water for a few days before cooking. bacalao cooked just about anyway is amazing. The chowder I made was with a light tomato-clam broth, potatoes, leeks, carrots, cabbage, spices, herbs and a touch of vinegar.

What have I been up to? I have been a little busy with things. I have also been a little busy food styling in Columbus Ohio the past couple weeks. What do you think of my new food styling photos? These shots were fun for me because I could choose the food going to be styled on the plates. Usually we shoot for a food company using specific food products and recipes. These shots were to showcase the plates. These are just a couple photos I worked on with Eric Wagner at Illumination Studio. Eric is a great guy and a wonderful food photographer.

Many people become pretty stressed this time of year from rushing around to find the perfect gift to getting delayed with their travel plans trying to see everyone. Sometimes it makes us forget the real meaning of Christmas. Hopefully all goes well with you and your family. Have fun and let me know if you eat anything great. Again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
