How to: make a pastry bag

Chef Nicky Morse, food stylist based in San Francisco, California and Columbus Ohio, shows an easy and inexpensive way to make your own plastic pastry bag.

Chefs have been making their own pastry bag from parchment paper to pipe chocolate for years. I’ve seen a number of people cut the tip off a Ziploc. It’s nice because it is resealable, but to me it is a little bulky and the way the angles are on the bag makes it difficult to hold.

Fo this video, I used a 1-gallon resealable plastic freezer bag. Hopefully this cooking tip will make your life a little easier.

Enjoy!

Disclaimer: Don’t burn yourself on the hot plastic…wear a glove. Oh yeah…don’t smell the plastic fumes either!

Preparation: Please watch the video for step-by-step instructions. Enjoy!
